YouTube Marketing Tools: 5 Tools You Can Use to Grow Your Business Channel
If you go to Google and search for “YouTube marketing tools,” you’re going to get a list of forty different apps—half of which you’ll sign up for and never open again. That’s not what you need, or what you have time to do.
What you actually need is a short list of tools that covers the parts of your YouTube strategy you can’t (or shouldn’t) do manually like recording, optimizing, editing, and turning your viewers into subscribers.
As a YouTube consultant, I’ve tested a lot of tools over the years, both with my own channel and with the expert businesses I’ve worked with. I’ve tested the good and the bad.But these are the ones that have earned a permanent spot in my tech stack and my recommendation to students, clients, and any business owner interested in growing on YouTube:
Heads up: some of the links below are affiliate links, which means I may earn a commission if you sign up at no extra cost to you. You’ll never catch me recommending a tool I wouldn’t use myself.
The Best YouTube Marketing Tools for Your Business
You don’t have to use every tool on the list to get results on YouTube, they’re just my recommendations based on the different things you can (and should) do on YouTube. I’ll also admit there are always alternatives, but these YouTube tools are what I’ve found to work best.
#1. VidIQ
VidIQ is a keyword research tool for YouTube. It provides information about what users are searching on YouTube and the terms and phrases (the keyword) that is the best option for your video.
It gives you search volume, competition, and related keyword suggestions for you to compare for your strategy.
The platform offers a free tier, which is ideal for most business owners starting their channel and figuring out if YouTube is a platform they want to commit to (although even just one video a month can build out your YouTube funnel and see results).
#2. Descript
Editing is usually the step that keeps people from publishing consistently, it’s right up there with scripting a video. You film the video, then it sits—because who has three hours to sit in an editing timeline?
Descript speeds up the editing process by allowing you to edit the transcript and provides AI tools to help with little, but time consuming, editing tasks like removing filler words (like “um”) or removing long silences.
You can also add captions, create clips, and create AI thumbnails—although that specific feature still needs some work.
The short version? It takes editing from a few hours to 20 minutes of time, and that’s why I love Descript.
#3. LLC YouTube Assistants
Not every part of running a YouTube channel needs to be automated with software, sometimes what you actually need is support without the overhead of hiring and managing a full team yourself.
Inside the Low Lift Club, members get access to six YouTube AI Assistants (which we’re calling one YouTube “tool” for today), trained on my curriculum, framework, and everything I’ve learned working with hundreds of service providers on turning YouTube into a lead generator for their business.
Instead of hiring a freelancer for each individual task (or trying to learn all of it yourself from scratch), you get built-in support for every stage of the process:
YouTube Funnel Assistant: give it your expertise, a topic or keyword, and your lead magnet, and it maps out a full video series for you, explaining why each video matters and how it fits into your funnel.
YouTube Scripting Assistant: turns your topic and talking points into a script you can actually use.
YouTube Packaging Assistant: helps you create engaging, SEO-friendly titles and thumbnail direction so your video actually gets clicked.
UTM Parameter Builder Assistant: builds your tracking links so you know exactly where your traffic and conversions are coming from.
YouTube Promotion Assistant: repurposes your video into captions, reels, and threads for the rest of your social channels.
YouTube to Blog Repurposing Assistant: turns your video into a blog post, so one piece of content is working across multiple platforms.
Paired with personal feedback, it’s one of the highlights of the Low-Lift Club. It’s also less of a single “tool” and more of a system—but if you’re looking to grow your channel with the frameworks and assistance to go with it, this is where I’d point you.
#4. Riverside
If you’re recording solo videos, interviews, or going live on YouTube, Riverside is the tool I recommend most. It records locally in high quality (so a bad internet connection doesn’t wreck your footage), and it makes hosting a guest or co-host painless.
But the real reason it’s on the list is because of what it can do for your YouTube live strategy. If you’ve been putting off YouTube lives because the tech was too intimidating, Riverside removes most of that friction.
And as my Low Lift members could tell you, lives make all the difference in your YouTube strategy.
#5. Kit
Kit (formerly ConvertKit) is an email marketing and audience-building platform that I 100% recommend if you’re getting started with YouTube. It’s built specifically for creators and online businesses, so setting up a lead magnet delivery sequence, tagging people based on what they downloaded, and nurturing them toward an offer doesn’t require you to be a tech person to figure it out.
But my favorite part of Kit isn’t the sequences, it’s the tracking. Kit lets you see exactly which subscriber came from which link—so when you pair it with UTM parameters on your links in your video descriptions, comments, and bio, it attributes it to the subscriber.
You can see, subscriber by subscriber, which video brought them in—and see that information if/when they invest in your digital products, courses, or services in the future.
Your YouTube Toolkit Doesn’t Need to Be Complicated
You don’t need forty tabs open and a subscription to every app that shows up in a “beset of” list (you don’t even need all of these). You need a tool for recording, research, editing, and support for turning viewers into subscribers.
Find tools that do what you need and that work for you, and go from there.
